Pros
- Filled with some of the brightest scientists and engineers I've ever had the pleasure of working with - Lots of autonomy (in my role at least) - Excellent training - Stability - Solid 401k match - Good location (not in Boston!)
Cons
- Poor compensation package (mediocre salary, NO BONUS, no equity-ownership opportunities) - Laughable vacation time (2 weeks until you hit 10yrs of service, then you get one more! Woohoo!) - Poor work life balance (very long hours, no flexibility on schedule, no opportunities to work from home) - Too many "lifers" are stuck in their old ways and insist on dragging down the business - Tenure is rewarded over results - No real career growth opportunities - Medical benefits are sub-par - Too many layers of ineffective management - Innovation gets lots of lip service, but in practice, real innovation is stifled - No accountability, no one seems to have any authority to actually drive change - Antiquated systems (software, IT, etc)
