Pros

Health benefits are very good. Family health plans are very inexpensive and they offer a variety of options. Overall the employees in the trenches seem very capable and eager. Salaries appear to be competitive within the industry.

Cons

There is little strategic corporate direction. It appears the company strategy was to sell the company. As a result there is little effort made in developing a long term strategy as a viable business. Processes within the organization are very bureaucratic for a company of this size and there appears to be little incentive to make the necessary changes to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. The "Dilbert" syndrome seems to be rampant within the organization. The line employees seem eager to make necessary changes, but the mid-level managers seem incapable of promoting innovation within their groups. As a result, there is a tendency to throw bodies at problems instead of improving efficiency. Change seems to be a bad word to the mid-level managers in most cases. A consequence of this attitude is very high employee turnover or an employee attitude that I am working for a paycheck and benefits and little else.
