Pros

The office is nice. HR is nice and usually helpful.

Cons

Horrific management from top to bottom that pretends to be helpful but turns out to be an absolute micromanage fest. There are members who treat males differently than they treat females because they’ve been there longer. I had one of the female leaders ask me my second month there “How long does it take you to do this? C’mon it should only take 15 minutes” on an hour-long task I was trained once on. Upper management is obsessed with making tasks and projects due “EOD” when they can certainly wait for weeks - and ultimately needed 100 revisions before being approved anyways. There’s zero room for growth - there are managers who have been there for 5 years without a promotion. Product constantly creates projects for the department just to spin wheels and catch us in a “got ya” moment. They’ll email and message you nonstop every day unless you answer them. Some sales reps are relentless with their asks. They think the department can sit back all day and give them endless estimates, projections and proposals for their opportunities to make money. If it’s not the answer they’re looking for, they’ll then question your methods as to how you got there — and even escalate it to senior management behind your back. The clients are super needy and sales always defers to PMMs for client facing responses even though that’s not the job of a PMM. Sales will not respect your time and expect you to drop everything to attend to them with a short window of time on any given day. I also had more than one sales member not know what products she was even selling, so she would be asking juvenile questions during the contracted flight of the campaign that she should know before selling it. If you don’t set boundaries, everyone will take advantage of you and then wonder why you’re logged on at 10 or 11pm. It by far was the most toxic, backstabbing, petty, sophomoric environment I’ve ever been apart of. This job had such pathetic, cowardice management that I was told to add them on LinkedIn after my last day there and none of them accepted my request nor wished me good luck on the way out on my departure call - only a couple of my friends reached out separately to me. My time there was the most stressful, depressed state I’ve ever been in my life that I would wake up at 3 or 4am every now and then out of anxiety for what was on my plate. I would work random times like 3am or even Sunday afternoons just to ensure I had time to eat lunch the next day. Not only did this job completely crush my personal life — you had to find coverage for your PTO or else it was denied — but it totally sent me down a complete depressed state, which ultimately led to me seeing a therapist once a week. The icing on the cake? They took away about 70% of our annual bonus, and forced us to come back to the office 3 days a week while some of the upper management worked from home. I eventually got out from this disaster and have never been happier in my life, but learned a valuable lesson in accepting just any job when trying to progress in my career.
