Pros
Really creative and smart people, most people have a unique and cool story/background. - free lunches and snacks - which is great because you won’t get paid much so anything for free should be considered part of your compensation
Cons
- With the overtime you work, your pay is actually less than minimum wage (if you’re in a jr position) so WS does not pay anywhere close to a living wage - they want “entrepreneurial” people, but you dont actually get to reap the rewards through ownership in the company (or maybe you do get stock options but your pay cheques already land you in the red so can’t afford to buy into it) - toxic and perfectionist environment - if you make a mistake, you kinda get torn apart in a passive aggressive way that belittles you - the leaders/managers don’t really know how to provide good and constructive feedback - really poor professional development and mentor ships - I’ve heard several people “joke” about how everyone at the company has at some point gone to the bathroom to cry... this isn’t ok or normal. - if you do t drink the cool aid, they will make you believe its because you can’t “cut” it, but keep in mind that most people who stay here for more than a couple years probably grew up in this environment and have never actually worked in a collaborative and empowering environment. There is a reason for the high turnover.
