Pros

Great clients, as you would expect for an agency of its size. Decent benefits. Some very good minds there.

Cons

Blinkered thinking. Siloed teams. Lack of energy from management. Some fairly senior members of staff are not engaged and seem to be simply picking up a paycheck while throwing colleagues under the bus, so to speak. Very senior management only come to you when they want something (I.e. awards entry support, positive Glassdoor reviews). Solely focused on big name clients... Other smaller clients ignored, to the agency's detriment. Plenty of arrogant junior staff who think they know everything... Confidence is great but it's a fine line between that and being offensive. I was working for an SVP who seemed totally unmotivated, disinterested in the team he managed and was reluctant to share information. There was no interest in team building, getting everyone behind a cohesive practice strategy. We didn't even have practice update meetings. It really felt as if this person was threatened or insecure in some way, had managed to land a position where they were not questioned, and were extremely protective of this. The fact that several of the accounts that I inherited from this SVP had, on investigation, been severely underperforming, underlined my concerns, yet when these concerns were raised, they were ignored by this SVP. It was impossible. I left. There has been a heavy churn rate of very talented people. I can count at least five VPs that have left in the last six months. Something is very wrong, at least in the office that I worked in. I put that down to senior management being stretched too thin and the former covering GM not being based in the main regional office. Zero bonus structure. Not even a Christmas card! Very "cliquey" groups.
