Pros

Depending on your position and store location, it can be fairly dead at times allowing you to have downtime. Once in awhile we got about to code out baked goods.

Cons

Very low pay. Lack of employees. High turnover means constant short staffing situations due to underqualified workers. Randomly cutting hours from one week to the next without a word with employees effected. Asking employees to cross-train to "solve work shortages internally" with no pay raise or benefit to employee. At the end of my employement I was working 3 departments and often being tasked with odd-jobs. Equipment was outdated and in disrepair., Getting someone to come fix issues was a joke. Leaking roofs, leaking coolers, broken equipment...being sent broken loaner worse than broken equipment that will be hastily half repaired to come back and "work". Internal leadership was non-existant. The computerized ordering system, our buyer and untrained employees constantly had us overstocked on meat, produce and seafood. FOOD WASTE.

Pros

-Easiest retail management you can hold. -Very good work life balance if you run your business well. -Pay is good for effort required

Cons

-Senior leadership of operations is Wal-Mart -Field leadership tries to do the right thing, but nothing is progressed because of senior leadership. -Do not come to the company with ideas. Come work for this company if you like doing what you’re told with no independent thought.
