Pros
Great culture and mentorships. Higher-level, more experienced members have no problem sitting down with junior staff to discuss career development and advice. The work is engaging and important. Opportunities are diverse enough to serve you well if you move away from consulting in a few years. Good benefits and PTO as well. Places high value on community service and giving back.
Cons
Definitely targets a specific type. Mostly white, middle/upper class from the suburbs who went to Big Ten schools. From what I've seen, the culture varies wildly from one team to another. I personally love my team and my coworkers, but I can see the other more greek life, student body president, type-A consultants around the office (male and female). There are definitely "chosen ones": people who have the right connections to upper management and rise quickly. You'll see these faces over and over on stage at company-wide events and even in marketing material.
