Pros

Today marks my one month anniversary of moving to Seattle, WA to join West Monroe. I have to say the experience has been pretty incredible so far. In the past month I've had a chance to learn a lot about this vibrant and successful employee owned consulting firm. In that time we've been named to Crain's Chicago Business "Fast Fifty" and the Seattle office recently took Seattle Business Magazine's "#1 Company to Work for Headquartered Outside of Washington," award. On a more personal note I couldn't be more happy with the folks I work with. The office is a very colegial atmosphere. There are a number of conferences and shared work spaces however no one has their own office/space. We work together and move around throughout the course of the week which really helps you feel like you're connected to all the different parts of the business. We even had our CEO visit recently and he was set up right in the middle of all of us. I personally work on the Technology Infrastructure team but I get a chance to associate with folks from the Customer Experience, Banking, Healthcare, and other teams on a regular basis. West Monroe's primary motivation when hiring is to find individuals who fit the company culture. People here are fun to work with, bright, talented, motivated, and tend not to have much attitude. We're extremely good at what we do but there is no room for hubris. I think that mentality, and the fact that everyone has a personal ownership stake in the company, makes for a very powerful combination. West Monroe is an excellent management consulting firm and if you're an IT pro with a gift for business and good communication you would be hard pressed to find a better place to work.

Cons

I recently started at this position and truthfully I can't think of any cons so far. My pay is commensurate with industry averages. The workplace is fun but productive and things feel fairly egalitarian. The only downside I can actually think of is that we don't yet have a lab in the Seattle office but it's in the works.
