Pros
Some genuinely nice people, especially at the lower levels. A lot of people with a decent work ethic, some interesting office spaces.
Cons
This place is deeply, deeply unserious. I saw nothing while I was there, especially amongst leadership, that left me with any confidence that they’re well-suited to navigate the market or the moment. They were differentiated in the market in 2003 and they aren’t now. That doesn’t take inside information to know, it takes Google. Maybe a third of people partner and above have confronted that. Post-sale of a majority stake to Private Equity, culture and operations turned into a disaster. Hyper short term thinking. It’s unfortunate - I’m told by others that working here in the early days was the best time to have done so. The second-best time to work for them might be five years from now, assuming they figure things out. In the interim, though, it’s not worth risking your career to try and help them do the figuring out. The layoffs and rapidly declining Glassdoor scores speak for themselves.
