Very high level of integrity at corporate and individual levels. Environmental protection is deadly serious, as it should be and same for safety. Transition from paper company to packaging supplier in transition. Morale good. Leadership heard from frequently about performance and safety. Good effort to make international presence known in South America, Europe and China.

salaries tied to "market based compensation" or, in other words, they use the salary data that supports what they offer. If it differs from other data, then it is dismissed as faulty. Operating unit, or division leadership variable quality. Location morale in the toilet for some, top shelf for others. Corporate overhead growing monthly. More vice-presidents than a bank, unknown number of managers, directors and VP's involved with strategy at all levels. Confusing and unknown value. Political maneuvering worthy of a knife fight. Obvious star tracks and cast offs. Middle of the road for all but a few. Old timers appear to hold a lot of knowledge about doing business but succession planning doesn't appear to value them much. Employee turnover encouraged. Every year up to 10% of salary workforce is, in theory, supposed to be replaced or moved another job. Intent is to skew Bell curve toward top end. Punitive culture in most locations admitted to by some employees by unscientific sample. Toe the line and speak the company speak; you will do fine. Disagree vocally or on paper and see what happens.
