There is no local, regional or dedicated with Western Express. Only OTR. If your recruiter tell you different, it's only to get you in. After your training and first week of driving, they will inform you that you are an OTR driver. Good luck in home time unless you do a lease purchase. If they do route you near home, they will charge you on gas to drive home. They lose money on empty drives. Loads pay gas, driver and company. Guest who get the largest percentage. I had my trainer on the first day say get your experience and leave. Who says that. Now I know. Hardly any one here talking about the bad equipment they have: vehicle in shop, no money. Trailer in the shop, no money. You can be stuck at a terminal for five days like an alley cat: no car, trying to find food and a place to sleep. DMs go home faithfully at 5, weekends and holidays no matter what your breakdown situation is. 36 cents a mile when the truck can't go faster than 65 mph. Do the math. You making $10 or less an hour. Jack N the Box pays more. If you can't do the math, you can't go anywhere else due to your criminal background. Those that are here giving good ratings are the DMs or the recruiters trying to add something positive for new recruits. No wonder each day there are 20 plus people in orientation. High turnover. There is a driver shortest in America, don't let Western do this to you. Find another company. Feel funny, it is funny...get out before they give you a load 6 states away from home and bus ticket is expensive.
