Pros

Benefits. If you stay with WT you will be taken care of. They pay well on mileage and travel. Despite the nepotism there’s some pretty serious opportunity here. Interesting projects and a prestigious reputation.

Cons

Alarming cultural norms. Locker room banter can quickly become racist and sexist. It’s no surprised there’s no HR and there are rumors of inappropriate conduct from higher level employees. When you start you will get lured in by being made to feel important but quickly you will realize your offer is not your reality. They will offer jobs in major cities and slowly position you 90+ minutes out. If you don’t like your manager you are in a tough spot. They often force people into travel by public announcements. If you are not liked you will be exiled quickly. I highly recommend you try your luck elsewhere. This can be a great place to build a career and wealth but there are too many warnings and too many nefarious characters.

Pros

Benefits are great. People you are surrounded with are the best benefit.

Cons

Commute (comes with the industry). Demanding portions of the project will eat up your work/life balance if you let it.

Pros

The company has great leadership scattered between the different offices. The pay can be really good if you are a top performer, which just is through effort and giving your all to the job. It's a company that I was able to believe and follow the leadership and have lasting mentorships spanning a decade even after leaving. It is a company that I saw adapt and change over my time there. The changes were always an effort to make it better for the employee while maintaining a profitable business. I saw them listen to complaints and desires of employees and bring changes into action. It is a large company, so things take time, but I first hand saw changes. Also, if you talk about your long term life goals, have patience, are a good employee, they will help you reach your goals. Health care benefits are great too.

Cons

Construction can be a tiring industry. Long hours, tough days sometimes filled with emotions from trying to get the project moving forward. But my leadership was always understanding of this. They recognize and reward directly and indirectly the effort and work you put in. The golden handcuffs of the stocks is a downside. Living in expensive areas can be tough
