Pros
I was in an office admin position at Whitman, so my experience is with staff relations and not faculty, with whom I did not have a whole lot of professional contact. My department did not have too much in the way of office politics, bickering, or infighting. People tended to stay for a long time.
Cons
One definitely overheard the usual stories of professors sleeping with their students, and endured a certain amount of meetings over budgets and the other sort of bureaucratic roadblocks that one expects in higher education administration. Staff and faculty did not seem to interact much at all when I was there, but that may have changed.
