Pros

For associates looking for experience and then to leave, a good place to be.

Cons

A toxic environment to work. The firm caters to the few and demoralizes the many, with a revolving door at every level of the firm. No collegiality or cooperation. Internal competition is practically required to get ahead. The best and brightest in their practice areas move to other firms when they can. Too many bean counters in administration and in the top partnership (who do not bill any hours) make 2100 billable hours an "excellent year" (a quota) for the (vast majority) of attorneys. Nepotism makes the world go round. The CEO looks the other way. Too many associates get no raises year after year. Go elsewhere, young grads.

Pros

Good coworkers and supervisors. Billable work environments tend to be the same in terms of monotony, so it helps to have a good team.

Cons

Billable hours aren't the most fun thing in the world. Huge caseload.

Pros

Great benefits, pay is okay. Partners are reasonable and nice.

Cons

Firm is misogynistic. They either drove someone to quit/fired really good talent and one of the only attorneys that was sweet to the staff after they took the side of male colleague in their interpersonal issue. Watched this person get bullied and firm did nothing. A lot of exclusive groups and mean girl behavior in chicago office it is really a shame
