Pros

Great 40% off discount, even off of sale items, extravaganzas occasionally which give you 50% off as "employee recognition" and such. Loved the girls who worked with me (for the most part)

Cons

-Horrible at training- "Oasis" has no real guide, takes at least a month to train new girls, who usually quit before they even get to this process. -Unless upper/area management likes you, don't expect to get far in this company. Very clearly plays favorites -No amount of constructive criticism is taken, no ones ideas except upper management are heard -Scheduling is awful. Request offs have to be sent in multiple weeks in advance, and then still just "requests", people are constantly called in on their days off, while salary management chooses when they work. -Favorites are definitely played, managers will write up one employee for something, while others can get away with doing that and more, because they are friends/liked by the upper management. Same rules do not apply to everyone -Dress code can be ridiculous. Once again, the same rules tend to not apply to everyone. Some people are told to "dress up more" while others can get away with wearing jeans and bling. A consensus needs to be made. If Windsor wants the dress code to be more dressed up, they need to formally say so in the dress code. -No advancement. Takes at least 6 months just to get into management, and as previously stated, unless you are favorited by the upper management, youre looking at committing years as an assistant, good luck with ever getting your own store. -Too much focus on LP. If LP is all that will be worried about, hire in store security. Its a thing, other stores do it. Constantly being harped on about watching people steal creates a bad environment not only for employees but for customers who then feel that they are being profiled and treated like thieves. It's stressful for employees to basically tell them that their job depends on them stopping shoplifters. -Large focus on sales goals that are impossible to make if you only work mornings/don't work weekends, and with no compensation for making these goals. Look into a commission plan, maybe then there wouldn't be such a high turnover and people would actually be motivated for their goals. Using an "employee of the month" model for a couple "windsor bucks" is not a good enough motivation. -Hourly wages are no where near enough to live off of. -As much as Windsor as a brand strives to follow their values, they aren't truly followed in the stores.

Windsor Fashions Response

I appreciate you taking the time to give such a thorough review on your experience during your time with Windsor. Based on your feedback, it appears that there has been a disconnect between our company practices and what occurred at your location. Our Road to Oasis training program is specifically designed and created to provide in depth training from Sales to Management. The program consists of Trainer's guides with time lines of how long each module should take. Our "Dressing Up" philosophy is of great importance to us, so much so that the very first sentence in our Dress Code is "Windsor is a fashion apparel leader and all associates must represent our philosophy of "Dressing Up". There are several opportunities for career advancement as positions become available. We have an internal application process in which interested candidates can apply to their District Manager. Our primary focus is to provide amazing customer service to each and every one of our customers, so any other focus is secondary. Your impression of our Loss Prevention practices will be addressed and retraining will be completed. I will be looking into all of the concerns you described in your review and use this opportunity to make changes, as company we are committed to continual growth and improvement. Again, thank you for your feedback and recommendations.

Pros

The company has a great culture and is led by a team of incredible executives. In the field, we are given the trust and freedom to run our districts like our own business. Leadership values my input and communication and expectations are clear. The the work-life balance is highly supported. Excellent bonus structure if your stores hit their targets. The company fosters growth from within and provides tools and training to help develop leadership skills. My peers and mentors create a collaborative and fun environment.

Cons

The stores are very fast paced so it can be challenging to retain employees. A car allowance would be beneficial for all the wear and tear we put on our personal vehicles with so much driving
