* Pay is terrible, even for the area * Expect to get put on a project alone or near alone * Limited software processes in place in terms of software lifecycle - no scrum, etc. * CVS is still alive and kicking! Hope you get lucky enough to get assigned to one of the few projects on git. At the end of the day, the software department seems to be run by a bunch of yes men who are more interested in appeasing the CEO than actually running a department. I had a friend quit soon after he was tore up and down because his boss had gone behind his back and promised the CEO something that was literally impossible to deliver. If your managers are going to throw their underlings under the bus, this is a place to avoid at all costs.
