Pros

Company is continually adding new business/partners which leads me to believe that they are financially secure. Helping our customers achieve work/life balance can be rewarding.

Cons

The phones ring constantly and there are many times a day when there is no one in the call center available to take any new calls. For each call you are expected to follow a lengthy script to perfection and provide empathetic active listening skills to the customer all during a phone call that is expected to last no more than 5 minutes, which is often impossible. While on the phone with customers you receive multiple emails from management telling you to wrap up your current call or that there are callers waiting in the queue. As soon as you hang up with a customer the phone rings again so follow up/post call work is often done during lunch breaks or after your shift had ended. Multiple emails are received a day that encourage you to get up from your desk and stretch, take a walk outside or join a yoga class, which creates a sense of anger for those who cannot leave their desks for more than 5 minutes per day-which includes bathroom breaks or getting a glass of water from the break room. There is no concern for employees in the call center having a work station that is comfortable for being seated in front of a computer for 8 hours (minus the 5 minute bathroom/water break and unpaid 30 minute lunch). When asked how to make the work station more comfortable/ergonomic the employees responses are not responded to so employees must bring in their own items from home paid for out of their own pockets.
