Pros

World Book set, that's all

Cons

Sell, sell sell is all you hear with absolutely NO support! No professional development, no marketing at all. When the new CEO came in and dismantled the executives, he never replaced them to leave field staff on their own with NO SUPPORT. Terrible example of management. They have not invested in products that clients want or need but push what the exec's think should sell. What about asking clients what they need?

World Book Response

We always believe that we can sell more of our great products each day. Most of the time, our belief is supported by empirical data direct from customers or from sales rep results. I do understand the angst and stress that sometimes comes with those that work in Sales...it's a tough profession. I'm satisfied with the level of support that the home office provides the sales organization, but there's always room for improvement. I appreciate this feedback.

Pros

Wonderful collaborative atmosphere where everyone was extremely helpful to me when I was first at the company. My boss was so much like Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life" and utilized a laissez faire leadership style with was very effective.

Cons

I can find nothing negative to report on this company.

Pros

Good people. Hybrid work schedule.

Cons

Low pay, when a coworker leaves, there is no replacement, that person's responsibilities get divided and spread out to the entire team. The President of the company, is quick to jump to unfounded rumors, scuttlebutt from "anonymous suggestion box" comments and conclusions as opposed to actual facts, and focused solely on dollars signs, his bonus and does not lead by example, despite being a former military officer. Moral has dropped at the company because management doesn't take the employees issues and concerns to heart and pay a decent livable wage.
