Pros

Local teams in the Denver area are fun to work on and the local co-workers make this job overall positive. You work under well supported delivery principles and they have roles in place to support a project from all aspects. Work life balance is well respected and there are many ways to strengthen relationships with co-workers including game nights, burrito club, etc. If you are a developer mid - junior you will benefit greatly from the overall practice of TDD and paired programming employed here.

Cons

I would highly recommend that anyone considering joining the application services segment of WWT that is mid or above consider the following. - The PTO policy is in a single bucket with sick leave. - The PTO policy is accrual based with no increase for 5 years. - Application Services leans on the self starter mentality to a fault at times. You will need to be willing to find your own way through process. - Pairing is often considered a replacement for well thought out code reviews. Code reviews often allow for an individual to look at the code from an academic standpoint. They provide different functions. - Developer teammates often will want work straight on master and use the CI/CD pipeline as a crutch. - You may be hired as a developer of a particular language or stack, but you will be staffed based on need. - The St Louis office feels like the number 1 office. - Application Services (formally Asynchrony Labs) is slowly becoming overtaken by the overall WWT merger in terms of corporate culture and identity.

Thank you. Actually PTO and Sick Leave are completely separate. After one year, full-time employees are eligible for 6 weeks of Sick Leave. Embedded within our PTO (Paid Time Off) there are 6 sick days that can be used for when you're not feeling well or just for taking time off. We eliminated sick days as a result of what our employees wanted (flexibility). We feel our PTO is very generous but it's not the only reason to work for us. Overall our benefits (health insurance, 401K, etc.) are outstanding. Thanks again.

Pros

My manager was very supportive she would give great feedback and try to help me grow . The people were awesome. My coworkers were great and supportive.

Cons

For all the projects we had regional managers there was one that had it out for me. This person was relentless and I went to my manager. The problem I had with this person was they never stop coming after me and my manager tried to stop this person in their tracks, but they tried a way to come after me. My manager’s manager was kind of not a good manager because he was all about the numbers and he didn’t care about the person. He never once had a one-to-one conversation with me I noticed that he played favorites with people and it’s just not good to do that. I believe that as a senior manager, you have to get to know your team instead of hearing what other people say. There was a senior project manager out there who essentially threw me under the bus. When people would resign, all of the projects that were left behind by the previous person they would dump it on one person. It is a lot of work to dump on a person. Some managers would help you grow and there are others that will do the work behind your back on a project. There was one who would start adjusting my project numbers and get mad at me. Mind you this was my first year and this manager would throw me under the bus. “Great Workplace?” Please
