Pay is a joke £9 an hour is not enough for the work we do carrying kitchens up multistore flats and long walks around customers houses with heavy units
daily load of trucks are between 2550KG and 5500KG to off load all weather with limited time for delivery
Not enough time given for difficult deliveries ie Flats, Bad Access, Length of walk to property, size of Kitchen
Route management is substandard and inefficient
Loads are terrible often have to unload half a box to get to your first kitchen
No lifting equipment provided for heavy units for use on stairs
Surveyors don’t do their jobs properly i.e. not mentioning distance from truck to drop location, steps, state of property such as missing floor boards narrow stairs delivering to construction sites resulting in bad access and making the job harder risking injury to Porters and Drivers
Wren says Health and safety is priority but some units and worktops weigh too much for even 2 men excess of 60-120KG
Towers and units with inserts should be flat packed for safety reasons and better access
Wren Driver Supports favours delivering over safety of its drivers and porters rarely fail a job for health and safety reasons regardless of what driver/porter say or evidence provided
