Pros

It seemed like a really great place to work and everyone was really. Paid lunch break and free lunch in employee dinning room (which I guess is standard for casinos).

Cons

I had to quit after my 3rd day (technically only my 1st day because I was in orientation the first 2 days) due to a medical disability that I was upfront with my manager about during my interview. I went to my interview in a walking boot because I had just started walking after breaking both bones in my leg 2 months prior to my interview. I wasn't ready to start working at that time but I was applying for a summer position and I figured that I wouldn't actually start working for a few months when summer started. But I was wrong and after being offered the job (of which I was so grateful for given my condition) I was told that I would start orientation the following week. Still thinking that I wouldn't be walking around much and wouldn't be working for a few months when I thought the job was starting; I went to orientation only to find out that they make you walk around the entire casino (front and back of house- and both Wynn and Encore) on both days!! I was limping badly halfway through the first day and the training manager offered to get me a wheelchair which I declined to prevent further embarrassment. Customers were actually stopping to let me by and other new hires were offering to carry me. It was humiliating but I figured I could get through 2 days of torture, then let my leg finish healing until my position started. Well at the end of the 2nd day I was given a training schedule that started the very next day. I willed my leg to stop hurting and told myself I could tough it out, that it didn't hurt that bad, put a ton of anti-inflammation patches on it and vowed to not give up. But after the 3rd day the pain became unbearable and I wasn't going to get put on pain meds (and risk becoming addicted) just for a job. I apologetically resigned and thanked them for giving me the opportunity to work for them. 2 years later and after another surgery, my leg is completely healed and back to normal. I have since applied for numerous jobs for Wynn/Encore and was denied every one. Even the most basic things that I'm well over-qualified for. I finally contacted Human Resources only to find out that I am on a Do Not Re-Hire list because I didn't give 2 weeks notice before quitting. Are you kidding me with this?? I explained my medical injury and the fact that I was physically unable to continue working, but the HR woman just kept saying that their policy is not to re-hire anyone if they didn't give 2 weeks notice, apparently with no regard for unforeseen circumstances.

Pros

You technically get a free lunch and a one-hour break in an 8 hour shift but good luck ever using it.

Cons

There’s no time. I even feel guilty stopping to drink water or use the bathroom. It’s always going to be your fault if you don’t finish 12 credits with precision and perfection. You risk developing recurring UTIs like me. They know most GRAs can’t take breaks and it’s not even a secret….. but make one mistake, like claiming a credit incorrectly, not finishing a room because the guest came back, or marking the wrong room completed, and all hell breaks loose. They’ll remind you that the company pays you for credits, ignoring the fact that if you had a dollar for each day you don’t take breaks or lunch, you’d have a fortune. It’s a very abusive environment. It’s hard to find a GRA who can meet their standards, and if they find the right fit, that GRA can’t make mistakes. Every mistake is recorded and stays in your file, so they can cover themselves later if they want to fire you.
