Pros

A select few of employees at y12 are good people. Only some. There are alot of shady, unethical, backstabbers there too!

This is based on my experience and opinion: Where shall I start since I see Y12s' shills are on here posting only glowing reviews after others posted ones contrary to these shills? 1. Don't complain about any coworkers regardless if you just saw them commit a crime because middle mgrs at y12 were never sent to confrontation training, or anything to deal with this. It will be your fault for reporting any issues even if the coworker is completely in the wrong. Don't believe this is how it works there? Ask several employees and former employees. Y12 is definitely a zoo because its chalked full of "programmed pets" it favors! 2. ***Not an equitable, diverse, or inclusive workplace. How many out of 300 employees are a minority? 3. All you have to do to figure out what y12 mgmt will do next is to look at what ORNL FCU is doing. They can't cross the road without holding ORNLs' hand! 4. Many people that are back office do nothing to contribute, but mgmt just keeps creating useless, overpaid positions for these folks. I mean how many of these non productive people are needed on payroll?

They are very good to their employees. I enjoy my job!

Cons

Wish the benefits were not as high especially the spousal surcharge.

Benefits and they give a lot of vacation time.

Cons

Management is a joke. We reported a worked several times for stealing time and nothing was done. We also reported someone for doing loans wrong on purpose and again nothing was done. Finally tried to go to HR about the issue and HR knew we were trying to call them so they wouldn’t pick up the phone. Extremely toxic place to work. You can tell if they like you depending on if they ask for a doctors note when you call in sick. Even if you’ve been there 7+ years. The managers are moody and depending on their mood depended on what kind of day you had. They took everything out on you. Some days we were policed so hard we couldn’t get a drink of water. They will promote the lazy ones to managers because then they can replace that person with someone that’s going to meet their goals. They will keep aces in their places because they want sellers. If you happen to rub a manager the wrong way they will stay mad and make sure you don’t hit your goals by recommending other employees to members. Impossible to move up if you’re not in their friend circle. I’ve seen job posting available but at the same time had employees tell me they were already told they had the job. Seems unfair to post a job when you already have people in mind. It’s wasting everyones time.
