Pros

Great Great Great Benefits! Relaxed (sometimes too relaxed) company culture Flexible work hours Best for those entering the workforce > Career stepping stone Work-life balance Opportunities to travel (prior to COVID)

Cons

I genuinely think the company as a whole is good; not great. Lower level to upper level employees in other offices have good (even great) feedback about Yardi and their positions. These same people notice and comment on the vast differences in Dallas. The Dallas office is drastically different in culture, values and support compared to other offices. The Dallas office is primarily catered to new college graduates; mainly to justify lower salaries. What they (new-hires) don't know is that there is little to no option for growth/promotion despite what they tell you in the interviews. For established, experienced individuals this is not an office (again not commenting on the entire company) I would recommend. Management in this office will display unprofessional behavior with no consequences. Using profanity, discriminating against minorities to limit their careers. There is no accountability from VPs (or higher) to their directors/managers. The rules change based on if you are a women, a minority, apart of the majority or a male but yet they promote being an Equal Opportunity Employer. No consistency with promotions. Most recently, we've seen a job that was NOT posted in Employee Central offered to only 1 white male with no interview or management experience while others that have all the experience are looked-over. They love to say "we offered X the position because they have more seniority". So I don't need experience in the job? Just need to be employed long enough. Got it! Is it too much to ask to factor in skill?!?! Can we consider soft skills i.e. effective communication, leadership, etc. #thinkaboutit When employees ask for feedback (positive or negative), management is unable to clearly communicate (see methods of promoting above). But they can manage to effectively communicate when its time for reviews. They will have all the bullet points, explanations and reasons why not. Finally, LACK OF DIVERSITY. There is one (uno) woman of color that is a manager in the Dallas office. For a technology software company, I struggle with how you can be progressive in one area but maintain a majority (90%) white male workforce in upper management. I guess one person of color is enough #its2021

Yardi is a minority owned company which believes that a diverse, inclusive and respectful culture is critical for our continued growth and success. Opportunities for advancement are available to all employees, based on strong subject matter knowledge and contribution to their respective team. We continue to work on improving transparency, communication, education, and career growth in Dallas and all of our offices. We take pride in our culture and genuinely encourage anyone who feels they are not being treated fairly to reach out to our VP of HR so that we can work directly with you.

Pros

If I were asked pros of this company in 2020 I would fill this entire space. Since COVID the company culture completely changed toward the negative. They have good affordable health and dental insurance. You get to leave 2 hours early on the day before a holiday. They will provide lunch in office once a week. You get to work a hybrid WFH schedule. They invest in your 401k whether you contribute or not.

Cons

Their pay is below market. I was a TAM and could have made $20k more per year with another company but wanted to stay with yardi because they weren’t publicly traded and were more stable. The culture became more stressful and toxic after covid. Yardi began a partnership with wework (see Hulu documentary) and then wework went belly up which yardi had to bail them out of. As a result yardi spent millions of dollars. To offset this terrible decision, Yardi started quietly firing people within the company. Basically, they were eliminating “overhead” without calling it layoffs because the word layoff scares clients and they’ll start looking for another software to use.

We truly care about your feedback and appreciate hearing from you though some of your experiences and observations are vastly different from what we hear from our talented Technical Account Managers worldwide. Regarding the 2022 WeWork partnership, Our CEO has a proven track record for making strong business decisions that result in continued growth and success for the company, and we were thrilled to debut a new space management solution through our ‘WeWork Workplace’ partnership which solves for a dynamic, constantly evolving future of work. We are proud to share that we have not participated in any company layoffs and have added serval thousand employees to the company in the past several years as we continue to grow. We take pride in our caring, respectful, and transparent culture and genuinely encourage anyone who feels negatively impacted by something to schedule time with the VP of Human Resources to further discuss. While we are sorry you weren’t a happier employee, we genuinely wish you all the best going forward.
