Pros

The medical records work was interesting. There were many hardworking people who went above and beyond to be successful and dedicated employees. The prisoners were respectful and it was not uncomfortable to work around them.

Cons

Negative and unfriendly members of management who were not welcoming to new employees. Lack of skilled leadership that was responsible for creating a miserable work environment. There was an excessive amount of turnover, with many long term employees being fired or resigning.

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed certain aspects of your position when you were with Corizon. We have multiple facilities in/around Phoenix, so without knowing which location you worked, or when you left, it’s a little hard to respond fully to your concerns with management. Over the course of the last ten months or so, we’ve brought in several experienced senior leaders, from throughout the country and other Corizon contracts, to ensure that AZ is moving in the right direction. When expectations are raised, it’s not unusual to see a slight increase in turnover. The management group has and continues to raise the bar in terms of day to day expectations of employees. I would assume most of your frustration would be surrounding site leadership vs. regional. I hope that you were aware of reporting concerns through the proper chain of command, and spoke to regional management about any site issues. We also have a confidential employee reporting line, and encourage employees to use this, if they don’t feel like their concerns are being addressed locally. Sincerely, Courtney Penning Director of Talent Acquisition

Pros

Have had a diverse amount of technologies over the years to work with and the job pace itself is not super face paced so in most cases, can take time to resolve issues without feeling too rushed. This allows for more research time on complex issues and learning about new technologies as we implemented them.

Cons

There hasn't been any upward movement available in a long time, no chances for advancement anymore. The company financials have steeply declined since the last ownership change. Bills aren't getting paid on time so we are stuck chasing down getting a bill paid to get Internet connections back up for example. Communication is also very much non-existent as to the state of the company, so have to rely on what is in the news to find out any real answers. Company recently filed for bankruptcy. We haven't been paid it over 25 days but we are expected to still show up and perform our normal duties.
