Pros
High salary compared to competitors; however, other companies provide far better benefits (paid time off, compensated health benefits), so short-term employment at this company is the only way to maximize compensation.
Cons
Evidence-based medicine and best practices advertised on the Corizon website do not really exist within the company. Correctional health care is a challenging business but Corizon has lost far more contracts than it has gained the past 2 years not because the business is challenging but because they do not acknowledge that their business model is fundamentally outdated. While other corporations have learned that success is based upon the assignment of tasks to those best able to complete them successfully, Corizon executives are still mired in a corporate culture from the past that equates title with entitlement. "Who you know" within Corizon is far more important than "what you know". Currently, Corizon is in a perpetual state of reorganization to slow financial losses, but unless the corporate culture changes, those short-term gains will never create the necessary infrastructure required to practice true evidence-based medicine and be financially successful..
