Pros

Good benefits and compensation. Nice new HQ building with good amenities, good parking, including access to a small gym.

Cons

IT leadership at the end of last year was finally getting it right. Great new Director of IT, new Director of Development, new engineers, security, building, etc... Plans were made, and problems were finally being taken care of and fixed. Then, new CIO came in and everything came to a stop, creating a very negative work environment which has already driven away Director of IT, VP of Development, network and system engineers, and many more to come. Many people working for weeks on projects that have no impact on customers, security, or productivity. One week after company got hacked, CIO's number one priority was fixing the phones so that his middle name would show up in phone as opposed to legal first name. Spent months, over 10 full time employees and hundreds of man hours (hundreds of thousands of dollars of company money) to fix instead of working on security issue that allowed the hack to happen. They are never happy with anything and many are already looking for other jobs. Things are said in meetings that are positive, but opposite is done. Constant negativity and saying what you do wrong. They keep changing who people report to multiple times a year. Upper management pushing the blame on others to protect themselves. No team atmosphere, just constant threats about losing your job.

Pros

Have had a diverse amount of technologies over the years to work with and the job pace itself is not super face paced so in most cases, can take time to resolve issues without feeling too rushed. This allows for more research time on complex issues and learning about new technologies as we implemented them.

Cons

There hasn't been any upward movement available in a long time, no chances for advancement anymore. The company financials have steeply declined since the last ownership change. Bills aren't getting paid on time so we are stuck chasing down getting a bill paid to get Internet connections back up for example. Communication is also very much non-existent as to the state of the company, so have to rely on what is in the news to find out any real answers. Company recently filed for bankruptcy. We haven't been paid it over 25 days but we are expected to still show up and perform our normal duties.
