A lot of talented colleagues, with high ambitions that can be great to work with.

Cons

Fractional staffing can feel like multiple full time jobs being managed at a time, and can really take a toll on one’s mental health. Certain clients, spaces and types of projects can also be particularly hard and complex for individual teams to manage( this really can take a toll on mental health. The amount of work can pile up, and fast pace expectations of working, including early mornings, nights, and weekends can make focused work challenging. Up or out in the strategy can also be complicated, since promotions are based on advancing within the space & the range of work can mean experiences/ growth trajectory may differ with what’s traditional growth within a space. Employees that aren’t promoted within a timespan are encouraged to look elsewhere (let go); while this is the case in other top firms, ZS doesn’t offer as much guidance into this process.

Expectations can vary widely depending on the team, which can create inconsistency and pressure. Career growth paths are less structured and require a lot of self-direction. Work-life balance can be challenging at times, especially across time zones.
