Pros
Working in Games is fun. Very casual atmosphere, awesome colleagues. Lots of party. Most of the middle management really caring and positive. You do have the feeling that Zenimax Online Galway wants to get somewhere, but then gets slowed down by the US. Lots of freedom in working processes, many of the processes were actually written by talented and experienced agents. I imagine that might change in he future, though. Decent Salary.
Cons
Poor communication between departments. Decisions from US came down on us like hammers, and we had to cope without understanding. Terrible communication with HQ generally. We were basically working different processes for months. Once the mass hiring of agents for the launch of "The Elder Scrolls Online" was over, the mass firing began. People were fired without notice, tapped on the shoulder, kind of "don't forget to pay your cafeteria bill" and escorted to the exit, some of them long before the end of their contract. That was the time when the idea of a "Zenimax Family" became a big lie. Everything became more confusing with time, the freedom of taking PTOs on short notice and adjusting break times to personal needs disappeared, while new tools to control the agents were intruduced. Because the vast majority of the agents were hired by a staffing agency, there was no health care and no job security. Once you are a Zenimax Employee, things get better.
