Pros

People there are the best aspect, they are picky with who they hire making it a great company to work for! Free lunches & happy hours are a plus.

Cons

Once Trulia was acquired by Zillow, things started to change. If you did not kiss up to HR or the VP, you were screwed. The aroma of fear has set into sales and other departments, you never know when your last day will be if you're not achieving 110%

Hi there -- thank you for the review. I'm sorry your experience wasn't the best - what you describe is not the environment many of us know and love, or strive to achieve. Best of luck in your next adventure. Amy (COO)

Pros

Very collaborative team, encouraging team members and managers. Great experience overall.

Cons

Because most people work remote, sometimes it can be hard to meet immediately to chat.

Thank you for sharing your experience as an intern at Zillow. We’re glad to hear that your team felt collaborative and supportive, and that your managers helped create a positive environment overall. We also appreciate your perspective on remote work and the challenges that can sometimes come with connecting quickly in a distributed environment. Feedback like yours helps us continue improving how teams stay connected through Cloud HQ.

Pros

Generally the people I work with are great. They are supportive, creative, and work well as a team. Work-life balance is good, although some teams have more on-call than others.

Cons

- Senior leadership has determined that inflation need not be a factor when calculating raises. - Also, we're having record profitability! But also money is very tight and we all need to tighten our belts. - Our stock is down 50% this year, but you all need to suck it up, even though stock is a huge part of pay. - We don't care that you are getting a 30% effective pay cut this year. - Performance ratings are calculated on vibes before reviews are actually written. - We've started outsourcing heavily to Mexico and India. - "We need to raise the bar" ("Please work harder for the same pay") - Health benefits have eroded for several years. - Other benefits have never been adjusted for inflation. - AI is becoming like a cult. We've actually been told that the dream is to never open a code editor again, despite the technology not being remotely ready for that (and with no proof that it is less expensive or saves time).
