Pros

There are so many great things about working here but the top things in my view are being able to collaborate with some of the best and brightest people in their fields. Also, they have awesome benefits here for the most part including great medical and PTO. My favorite thing is the open culture that exists, people are helpful and excited to tell you what is going on at Zillow.

Cons

Some cons are that since we are growing so fast you may be lost in the shuffle if you are not active in managing your career and where you want to go. Also some of the benefits are being overshadowed by other company's which may lead to turnover.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you are enjoying working at Zillow so much. Every year we re-evaluate our benifits package. I'll make sure mention this to the People Team. Keep up the great work. Justin LaJoie - VP

Pros

Very collaborative team, encouraging team members and managers. Great experience overall.

Cons

Because most people work remote, sometimes it can be hard to meet immediately to chat.

Thank you for sharing your experience as an intern at Zillow. We’re glad to hear that your team felt collaborative and supportive, and that your managers helped create a positive environment overall. We also appreciate your perspective on remote work and the challenges that can sometimes come with connecting quickly in a distributed environment. Feedback like yours helps us continue improving how teams stay connected through Cloud HQ.

Pros

Generally the people I work with are great. They are supportive, creative, and work well as a team. Work-life balance is good, although some teams have more on-call than others.

Cons

- Senior leadership has determined that inflation need not be a factor when calculating raises. - Also, we're having record profitability! But also money is very tight and we all need to tighten our belts. - Our stock is down 50% this year, but you all need to suck it up, even though stock is a huge part of pay. - We don't care that you are getting a 30% effective pay cut this year. - Performance ratings are calculated on vibes before reviews are actually written. - We've started outsourcing heavily to Mexico and India. - "We need to raise the bar" ("Please work harder for the same pay") - Health benefits have eroded for several years. - Other benefits have never been adjusted for inflation. - AI is becoming like a cult. We've actually been told that the dream is to never open a code editor again, despite the technology not being remotely ready for that (and with no proof that it is less expensive or saves time).
