Pros

Work 4 days a week and have 3 day weekends. work with great people and have great teams.

Cons

Don't get to benefit from everything that Zillow offers. You are tied to the desk for 10 hours a day and ot's exhausting. There is not a lot of room for movement within the department and they don't encourage you to get to know the company. They want you to focus all your energy on the department without being able to learn anything else.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Great to hear you like the teams, people, and shifts. I'm sorry you feel tied to your desk. Our department provides an amazing service to thousands of consumers and real estate pro's every day, which means being readily available. We're very clear in recruiting that some shifts are 4 days a week, 10 hours a day (with an hour lunch and breaks of course) and the position involves doing many similar tasks per day. Regarding overtime, we offer that from time to time on a purely voluntary basis, and many of the teammates comment they like to opportunity to add to their paycheck. Feel free to contact me directly if you like to discuss further, happy to chat. Reach me at jrg@zillowgroup.com or grab me at my desk today.

Pros

Generally the people I work with are great. They are supportive, creative, and work well as a team. Work-life balance is good, although some teams have more on-call than others.

Cons

- Senior leadership has determined that inflation need not be a factor when calculating raises. - Also, we're having record profitability! But also money is very tight and we all need to tighten our belts. - Our stock is down 50% this year, but you all need to suck it up, even though stock is a huge part of pay. - We don't care that you are getting a 30% effective pay cut this year. - Performance ratings are calculated on vibes before reviews are actually written. - We've started outsourcing heavily to Mexico and India. - "We need to raise the bar" ("Please work harder for the same pay") - Health benefits have eroded for several years. - Other benefits have never been adjusted for inflation. - AI is becoming like a cult. We've actually been told that the dream is to never open a code editor again, despite the technology not being remotely ready for that (and with no proof that it is less expensive or saves time).
