Pros
Zones is a place to learn the basics of the industry so you can move to the next step of your career. While there are a lot of bad people at Zones the good ones can be a joy to work with.
Cons
Zones has a toxic work environment and it is just constantly getting worse. It is a late 90s sales is king environment where people are allowed to treat others like crap so long as you close the deal. This is not limited to sales people but also upper management. At Zones even the leadership will denigrate you if it is a means to their self serving end In talking with a former sales manager he compared zones to an abusive relationship. If you stay long enough it will break you down and convince you that you are not capable of doing any better and that you don't deserve better. It doesn't end at the lack of respect. Though on top of being treated terribly Zones severely under pays its employees. They base this on the fact that they are 30 minutes south of Seattle means they don't need to provide pay that competes with Seattle. Then there is the outsourcing. Massive outsourcing. They first outsourced most of their support staff to india...then they outsourced their India staff to Pakistan because it was cheaper. They will try to outsource anything they can get away with if it saves a few bucks. Never assume your job is safe. They pretend to care about the culture so hard but do nothing to effect change. Survey after survey goes out and the number one issue is trust. People don't feel like they can be honest to their bosses without retribution. This STIFLES creativity, production, progress, and joy.
