Pros

Great co-workers, weekends and most holidays off, good stepping stone to a real technology company. There is only one way up from here!!!

Cons

The structure of the company is to steal money from employees by way of a ridiculous commission payout as well as missing spiffs for every product that is sold. The worst compensated in the channel. There is no honesty with the real cost associated with products versus what we are told our cost is. Various reps of the manufacturers have confirmed this inadvertently through conversations about Zones compensation for bringing the opportunity to the table. "The Leads Are Weak?" via Glenn Gary Glenn Ross....... In this case, they in fact are. The only way to get good leads are to search and add the companies yourself or stick around long enough to get "transition" accounts passed to you. Zones hasn't purchased new leads since 2004 per a former employee that worked in customer management. The "real" leads and transition accounts are farmed from the books of former Account Executives that put in the time to sift through the BS leads and develop some sort of relationship until it got shattered by one of the various moving parts in the sales process. Every department from Software Licensing, "Expert" Connect a.k.a. failed AE's, purchasing...... etc. will mess your business up and in most cases, irreparably. Shipping cost don't add up. Distribution says "free" and Zones says "fee". Nobody knows who you are. Lack of marketing immediately puts you in the sleazy salesmen/telemarketer category when cold calling which is 30% of your day. The other 70% is damage control and tracking down your missing commissions and spiffs.
