Management will retaliate against employees who complain. Racist and misogynist practices ensure that all positions of power are white men. In particular, women are relegated to "soft skills" roles, regardless of their interests. As someone who worked in more advanced technical roles, I only ever had one colleague who wasn't a man and she was demoted quickly.
