Pros

Most of the providers I worked with were extremely supportive, and great to work with. I’m interested in clinical medicine, and most providers were very open and willing to teach me anything I wanted to know. It was a good insight into the world of health care and medicine. I really enjoyed the phlebotomy training, as it was good hands on experience with patients. That being said, the phlebotomy training was highly insufficient, and felt that I had to do a lot of research/learning on my own.

Cons

The issues I had with ZoomCare began with the interview process. They lacked communication during the entire process. When I reached out, they were very ambiguous. When I inquired about the nature of the job and work environment I feel I was lead astray. I was told that I would be assigned to 1 particular clinic, and that the training process would be extensive. Training lasted 6 days before I was thrown into working on my own. I was ‘floating’ among multiple clinics for my first 4 months before getting an assignment. Associates have a huge workload, carrying a ton of responsibility without sufficient support. If we had questions, or didn’t know how to do something we were more or less on our own to figure things out. At any given time I might be drawing blood, while running tests in the lab, while patients are waiting to be checked in or out in the lobby, and have the provider waiting on me to dispense a medication. ZoomCare boasts their efficiency. In reality, they cut corners to save their bottom line by overloading their employees. They are so unwilling to support their staff. When I would reach out, or seek support I was usually ignored. In addition, they don’t follow through with the benefits promised at time of hire. Paid time off was part of my benefits package, but I was denied it the entire time I worked for the company. I requested to use the paid time off I had accrued multiple times, all within the unrealistic parameters set by management. (For 1-2 days off they required 30 days notice, for 2 or more days off, 90 days notice). I was denied every single request I made. Upon giving my 2 weeks notice I was told that I forfeited my PTO by resigning. ZoomCare is more concerned with opening new clinics, and making a profit than taking care of their employees. Run for the hills.

Pros

A lot of flexibility to work around schedules for childcare, appointments, etc. I feel supported and respected by my colleagues as well as my supervisor. I feel I am paid fairly for my experience and job duties.

Cons

Maternity leave could be better! It is also a newer company, so change is always happening which could be a con for some folks.

Pros

I had a great direct supervisor. There's a "we're all in this together" energy. You can tell that some middle managers really care about their teams.

Cons

Upper management. They were sloppy, never seemed to be on the same page about anything. some of the executive managers didn't pay attention to company policies and would space out in their own meetings. Very little accountability and rules were only applied for some coworkers.
