Pros

- Up-to-date tech stack and ability to gain experience with many different platform/tools/ languages. - Core engineering team has many talented people who are ready to help. - Dynamic development

Cons

- Work/life balance doesn't exist. You start the day on Israeli time and finish deployment in the evening on Pacific time. - Engineering team is not valued – don’t expect positive feedback from management. - Management routinely sets unrealistic deadlines and changes priorities. As a result, new features are rushed into production without proper design, code reviews, coordination between teams or testing. In the next development cycle engineers spend a lot of time on fixing bugs introduced in the previous cycle and fall further behind on the next tasks. - Compensation for long-time employees is significantly below market rate – annual raises are ridiculous. C-suite is trying to save every penny on employees’ salaries. For example, 2021-year inflation adjustment raise was announced in March… to be paid as part of next year’s January bonus! - Career growth in Waltham is near zero. A perfectly competent developer may wait 5 – 6 years for promotion engineer III to senior engineer. Often the promotion comes without salary increase. - Three quarters of recent hires in Engineering are on H-1B visas most from the same country. This is the situation not just with individual contributors, but on many levels of management too. This allows the company to keep high retention rate while keeping salaries low, setting harsh deadlines, and working people to exhaustion. Diversity is on the decline. - HR is occupied by getting various awards like the ‘best company to work for …’ and has no interest in retaining talent or making ZI a good place to work.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I appreciate the kind words about our talented team. You’re quite right – they are second-to-none. It’s never fun for me to read negative reviews about the organization that I lead, but there are several points in here that I’d like to respond to that I think may be misunderstandings. – Starting the day on Israel time and ending on Pacific time would mean working from 1 AM EST to 8 PM EST. I assume this was an exaggeration; however, if this is your reality, please speak to me or your manager as soon as possible because this should definitely not be happening. – Our CEO can frequently be heard to say that no part of ZoomInfo can run without the whole. We are all connected. Without engineering, there is nothing to sell, and our Executive Leadership team values our contributions very highly. – Compensation for engineers, on average, is above market rate. We regularly audit our compensation to ensure parity and competitiveness. – We take many factors into consideration when we give promotions. However, it’s worth pointing out that as a culture of excellence, we don’t necessarily give automatic promotions for “perfectly competent.” We promote outstanding employees. And we’re fortunate to have so many talented engineers – one in every six of our engineers were promoted last year compared to the industry average of one in ten. – Regarding our hiring of non-U.S. citizens: First, we want the best talent, period. Some of this talent comes from engineers on work visas, but it’s definitely not as high as three-quarters of hires! Secondly, I have always been passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion across all the companies I have worked at, including ZoomInfo. I spoke about this at the last engineering all hands meeting, where we discussed where we are currently and where we want to be. I’m proud to be part of a team that has folks from all over the world, who bring in a wealth of cultures, experiences, ideas, and innovation to the workplace. It’s troubling to me to hear that you’re not happy in your role at ZoomInfo. I want every member of the engineering organization to be able to grow professionally and find satisfaction in their work. I would welcome an open dialogue on your concerns so we can try to address them. I am, as you may already know, fairly quick to respond on Slack or to a Zoom invite. Please reach out to me, or your manager, at any time. – Madhav Nair, ZoomInfo SVP of Engineering

Thank you for the kind words. This genuinely means a lot to us. We're proud of the caliber of leaders here and the pace at which we're embedding AI into how we work, so it's great to hear that comes through day-to-day. You're right that the macro environment is presenting challenges – we won't pretend otherwise. What we can control is continuing to move faster and smarter than our peers, and feedback like yours is a reminder of why the culture we've built is a competitive advantage in itself. We're glad you're part of it. – Jennifer Creticos, ZoomInfo Chief Business Officer

Pros

Good pay, good benefits and great office.

Cons

Poor hiring decisions, recent layoffs eliminated mostly remote employees because they are prioritizing in office employees, especially with recent investment in office. RIF was not at all based on performance which meant that some in office employees who don't know what they are doing got to keep their job. You have to suck up to management to get promoted and a lot of really good reps leave as a result of constant micro-management.

Thank you for the feedback, and we're glad the pay, benefits, and office experience worked well for you. To be clear, though, the recent restructure was not targeted at remote employees. It reflected a strategic decision to restructure some of our sales and support operations as we shift how we approach certain segments of the business, both in terms of personnel and platform. The people affected were valued contributors and we recognize their work helped make ZoomInfo what it is today. The suggestion that in-office employees who stayed "don't know what they're doing" simply isn't accurate. Additionally, we go hard at the end of every month (which is true across SaaS sales broadly) but would push back on the characterization of the culture. Our employee engagement team works hard to make that sprint enjoyable, with in-office lunches and activities. Sales is a high-pressure environment by nature, and we're proud of the culture we've built around it. We appreciate you sharing your perspective, even where we see it differently. – Stephen Antuna, ZoomInfo SVP of Account Management
