Pros
Management talks the talk: "Welcome to the Team, Associate," with lots of feel-good communications and activities. Many dedicated, knowledgeable and extremely hard working individuals in the office and on the shop floor below the level of Management. A focus on Lean with much talk and activities revolving around continuous incremental improvement.
Cons
Bumbling, hypocritical Management without integrity or understanding of how daily work is accomplished at ground level. HUGE amounts of time wasted in unproductive meetings - problems are discussed ad nauseum but never resolved, as Management, firstly, does not understand the work, and secondly, is unwilling to recognize and resolve the true root causes. (It's time and resources, even though they steadfastly ignore everyone who tells them this). Workload at the ground level is excessive and expectations of Management are unrealistic. Plan on 50-60 hours a week, as there is no apparent concern, appreciation or understanding of the need for a work/life balance. Despite all the talk about "incremental improvement," the daily demands and expectations of Management are for exponential improvement. Plan on covering more than one position's responsibilty, as turnover is excessively high, particulary for an operation of this size. A telling fact is that, despite a bounty system, I know of no one who has ever recommended a friend for a job at Rexnord.
