Pros
HR reached out to me after I applied almost immediately. I had a great phone screen that lasted 35-40 minutes. She scheduled a follow up in person to consist of herself, and one of the owners. The meeting was scheduled for one hour to consist of a tour of the site and the meeting. I ended up meeting with HR, the marketing manager, and the owner Howard Hawk. The hour long scheduled interview I had last almost two hours.
Cons
The owner seemed disinterested after I dropped a nugget of information of a same sex marriage. I sprinkled that in as a reason for relocation to Seattle from my last job two years ago. From that comment on, he had lost interest in the interview. Asked me why I had job hopped on my resume. My resume had three companies over ten years with promotions within all companies from individual contributor roles to senior leadership. I was escorted out with HR making small talk even saying hello to some of their clients that I knew from previous roles when I lived in the area years ago. She asked me to come back the following week to meet the other owner and finalize the site tour. Monday morning I received an email letting me know that Howard didn't feel like I would be a good fit as an auction is a niche understanding. I politely let her know that Howard must have not understood the decade of auction experience I talked about in the interview.
