Pros

Disclaimer: mabl may have changed significantly since I left, but candidates, especially women and minorities, deserve to make an informed decision when considering a company that has historically been unwelcoming to certain people. In order to conform to Glassdoor's community guidelines, not all details and incidents are included. The information shared below does not violate any NDA or other signed agreements.

Cons

If you're looking for a startup that will give you opportunities to grow and develop your career, I recommend that you look elsewhere. New hires during my time at mabl consistently cited lack of mentorship and training as a problem. (pre-covid) It wasn't uncommon to see most people still working at their desks at 7pm or even 9pm. The founders have even asked people to come into the office on weekends to work several times. Unfortunately, your performance seemed to be measured, not by the work you contribute, but by how much the founders like you. After talking to each other, we discovered that women at the time were being paid $20K-$30K less than their male counterparts. There was an immense amount of pressure from the founders to drink alcohol at our weekly meetings. All of the founders' favorite stories about "company culture" were of people getting belligerently drunk. This drinking culture led to incidents in the office. Through 2019-2020, mabl had more than one incident of men being let go for sexually harassing women in the office. In one case, both founders were informed by multiple people of one man's comments towards women, and did nothing -- even told those who expressed concerns that they were not interpreting the man's words "with positive intent" (The comments to women were about their clothes, their bodies, and his body.) The founders continued trivializing concerns until a female employee (20s) came forward with screenshots and documentation of the man (40s-50s) making advances, then becoming retaliatory when he was asked to stop. I left mabl traumatized, for lack of a better word. I was being gaslit so hard by the founders that I questioned my perception of all the awful things that happened to people at mabl. Whether it was from being interrupted constantly, getting hazed by the founders as a part of company "bonding", being used as a token minority to show diversity, or being forced to work late nights and weekends because the founders told you to, a lot of people seem to have left mabl with the same feelings I have.

mabl Response
5y
As we've already responded when this review was originally removed by glassdoor, and the author revised it to see if they can get it to conform to glassdoor policies, mabl takes employee matters very seriously. We have several policies and resources in place to address all claims made here including: all compensation reviewed across all roles in the company at minimum annually including using a licensed outside resource to insure there aren't any pay discrepancies, a whistleblower policy and link which is available anonymously at mabl.com which goes to a licensed 3rd party, employee handbook with policies and procedures which every employee signs which includes an employee harassment policy, and all employee complaints and claims including inappropriate behavior are fully reviewed, investigated, and addressed per our employee handbook policies.

Pros

1) Great value proposition and huge TAM 2) Product is differentiated, very strong AI workflows, and customer ROI is absolutely top tier 3) Team (all functions) work well togther - we take training and building technical, domain, and product knowledge very seriously 4) Non-political and culture focused company. I think people genuinely like enjoy working with one another, and we know we succeed as a company, not at anyone else's expense.

Cons

1) Pace of learning and change can be pretty fast. Have to be ready to learn all of the time. Not news here, but technologoy innovation is the fastest it's been that I've seen. This is affecting just about all tech companies - we're likely more in tune with it and adjust continuously. 2) We don't have thousands of people, so people have to play a lot of roles. Fun and rewarding, but likely a different operating rhythm vs. being part of a thousand + person company.
