Pros
Great coworkers. Cool product. Great customers. Remote, flexible work.
Cons
Recent changes in c-suite leadership has created in a toxic environment full of fear. Layoffs happening under the radar, with no transparency as to why. Top performers have left or been let go, and those still here are searching for new jobs. Product and dev teams do not have the resources to support the needs of our customers, and sales targets are impossible to meet without product improvements and changes in pricing/packaging. Product roadmap is constantly behind. Customer success team members are overworked and their goals are in direct conflict with the sales commission structure, creating a constant tension between sales and CS that only hurts the customer. Ongoing changes in priorities and internal processes have always been a struggle at Nearmap, but thats normal in the tech world, and before recent additions to the exec leadership team, those issues were easy to work through because staff felt supported and part of something great. Everyone went above and beyond to help their coworkers and customers. Now people are too afraid to speak up, ask for help or admit mistakes. It’s all very sad to see, there is so much potential being wasted.
