Pros

Most of the pros have cons attached to them: There are some good people here who want to work hard and make progress. They're being stifled by a lack of resources, market realities, and the associated decisions the executive team is making regarding the direction of the business. I would say good people are a 'pro', but I'm not sure it really matters. Some of the products have good bones, but are withering due to a lack of investment. The pay is reasonable and on par with industry standards. The health insurance is mediocre, but certainly not the worst I've seen.

Cons

There are really too many to list in detail, so I'll just provide highlights: - The business is not meeting targets and has not for a long time. The products are doing poorly, and resources are extremely tight. - Numerous layoffs have hollowed out many areas over the last couple years, and the remaining staff are overwhelmed and lacking in morale - The c-suite is almost entirely brand new, including the interim CEO. The company feels like it's in a holding pattern in terms of direction. - Offshoring and outsourcing are the name of the game. There will soon likely be more employees outside of the US than there are on-shore, and almost all of symplr's clients are US-based. I suppose this is normal now for tech companies, and symlpr is no exception. If you're looking at an on-shore position, especially in Support, Engineering, and Product, you should exercise caution with symplr. The offshoring effort is relentless. I doubt there's much going on at symplr that isn't going on in a thousand other small corporations in the US tech sector right now. It's just a bad time.

Pros

I've really enjoyed working here because of the supportive culture and the flexibility of working from home. The team is collaborative, management is approachable, and I've had plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and take on different responsibilities within my role. If you enjoy continuous learning and a positive work environment, it's a great place to work.

Cons

The biggest downside is the limited opportunities for career advancement. It can be difficult to move up or receive title changes, even after taking on additional responsibilities. Compensation also tends to be below market compared to other companies offering similar roles and responsibilities, which can make it challenging to stay long-term.
