Pros
Most franchises are open and try to work with their locals. They often attempt to work to their employees' skills or work with other stores in the area. Corporate locations differ in that they may have an avenue into promotions for non-store jobs wheras Franchise are going to depend on your particular owners. It is not stressful, as you should have a good measure of your own capabilities and take work up to that and perhaps fill in the next day. If need be there is an appointment system so walk-ins can be helped with an expectation. There are plenty of industry tools and standards in place direct from a few manufacturers, giving you a clean slate to work with, not some cheap knock-offs. If you need help there is a large database where you may post and communicate with all employees even internationally to perform any sort of repair. With at minimum 2400 store employees (likely WAY more) there's a techie who's crunched your device's issue(s) as a hobby. Plenty of people even above the store level are friendly and generally will try to assist you.
Cons
Most Pros cannot be said of corporate stores, who have ridiculous conditions to work under and are under staffed. Corporate stores typically have bad reputations, lowering the company's value and affecting good franchise locations. Sometimes orders from the head office need to be... Amended in the field as they are impossible. Franchises should not do this but likely will due to customers coming first, but your corporate contract leaves no room for negotiation, so problems may arise for anyone who gets caught doing so. People above the store level have 1 or 2 layers before becoming more and more soulless and removed from caring about your problem. Exceptions are the few UBIF people who have moved into corporate offices, though I hear they want to hire more of those former franchise employees so this may eventually change.
