excellent people but outdated culture

Pros

Ambitious company that always strives to improve. *Fantastic benefits!* Pension, 401k matching, gym, hsa, flex fridays, etc. Very relational culture; emphasis is placed on networking with your peers and communicating effectively rather than just plug away at your desk. There are lot of opportunities to get more or less involved in projects, though this does not translate into vertical transitions very often.

Cons

A significant percentage of workforce is over 45; general reluctance for change permeates the company. upper level mgmt is out of touch and appears disingenuous in their communication with lower levels, so key "values" tend to not be taken seriously. There is a lot of horizontal organization, thus projects tend to take a long while before any action/decision is made. Finally, most problematic of all, there is rampant nepotism. This would overall be a system that would work in the 80s/90s but fails to hold up to new industry standards (which is also why they struggle to obtain/keep younger talent).
