Overall, the oil and gas and pipeline industries offer a relatively good compensation package to its employees and contingent labor compared to other industries in Canada. This is the main reason that attracts people to work in this industry.

Cons

The players in the Canadian oil and gas and pipeline industry are highly reliant on complex regulatory approvals, oil and gas market fluctuations and the dependency on 1 customer base on the north side of the border. This renders overall this industry highly risky to invest in.
