      HealthSouth going down the wrong path again.

      Pros

      Large publicly traded company, benefits are good, excellent rehab equipment, large advertising and marketing budget.

      Cons

      Unfortunately, since the scandalous leadership was ousted, it was replaced by poor leadership. The foundation of the entire institution is cracked, and is slowly crumbling. Very poor local leadership in our area exhibiting bad decisions are running the place into the ground. Very high turnover rate of Presidents, local hospital CEO's, Regional Directors, and staff. Usually high turnover is because of extremely poor management, and this is yet another example of such a case. Toxic.

      Pros

      Professional staff is very patient oriented and dedicated. Excellent equipment and new technology. Supportive senior management in most areaas except pay and benefits.

      Cons

      Pay versus other Worcester hospitals is lower. Benefits not as complete as acute hospitals in the city

      Cons

      Poor leadership/administrative management team Mixed messaging on expectations/standards Questionable execution of ethical practices High case loads and no plan of support for staff Unreasonably high expectations/weight of metrics placed on Case Mgt team and treatment team staff rather than focus of best practice outcome for patients (bc admin does not want SNF rate to increase or NRC score to drop) Admin create culture that fostered several constructive discharges of staff members No work/life balance
