Pros
Not a desk job, I get to move around and learn new things in the field of AV. I like being able to interact with clients and solve problems for people. It can be a great job if you work at a venue where you are actually doing AV on a consistent basis.
Cons
There is a lack of communication on expectations. We are constantly having to do less AV work for the venue and more of "maintaining the building" when we are event technicians not building security/maintenance. When things go wrong we are the first to blame, and we are treated like the red-headed stepchild of the building by management instead of like an event partner.
