Pros

Most of the senior leadership team of Actuant from the CEO down are approachable and easy to speak with. The pay is OK, but does vary by business unit. Bonus system is very good when it pays out. Lots of good employees.

Cons

They look outside to fill leadership positions instead of filling them more from within The performance review system is terrible The bonus system drives short term thinking. This is a major problem for a company wanting to be more innovative. New managers from larger, outside companies are having a negative impact on the culture. Corporate politics are taking over.

Big ideas with no understanding of execution

Pros

Great brand and products with a history of performance. Enerpac has a strong culture of lean production principles and cost out for todays highly competitive industrial market place. Enerpac has very good compensation and benefits with a nice corporate facility.

Cons

Poor leadership from the Presidents office and his leadership team prevent Enerpac from evolving into a modern industrial company. There are lots of growth ideas in the company but a focus on shorts term financial results limits the companies long term growth. The lack of focus on the HR function in the business limits both talent development and a culture needed for employee satisfaction. This is not a place to work if you are looking to grow professionally.

Decent pay, reasonable bonus program, and good benefits

Cons

Very narrow scope thinking - everything was focused on cost reduction and not quality or customer service. Also, the over-riding sense was that even though they had bought a very successful company, everything that had been done in the past was wrong - the corporate entity was all-knowing and their way was the only way.
