Questionable hires & lack of transparency

Pros

Flexible work hours, free snacks, interesting industry. A lot of smart people. You just need to make sure you find a mentor that can help you grow.

Cons

Lack of transparency from leadership (you never know what's going on with your team, change of roles, etc.), high turnovers due to questionable hires, zero training (for specific function), dull growth outlook. Enova is becoming more and more corporate every year.

Pros

Fun company environment, good people, great benefits/perks, and a modern tech stack.

Cons

It's hard to reconcile the moral issues involved with some of the kinds of products.

Thank you for your comments. We're proud of the environment at Enova and our people are what makes that culture. We're a tech company at heart, working to build great experiences for our customers. In regards to our products, we take our mission "to close the world's credit gap" seriously and provide our customers with credit to meet their needs and gives them options they wouldn't otherwise have. We make sure they understand their loans, we follow all regulations to the letter, and our Chicago-based callcenter is there for any questions.

Pros

Enova is a great place to work for someone who wants to implement their own ideas and make a real business impact. You are given an incredible amount of trust, and along with that trust comes the expectation to share ideas and deliver results. The people are incredibly smart but also truly fun, interesting and great to work with — it's one of the biggest reasons I enjoy my job. It's a public company, but it's managed to retain much of the innovative feel that made the company great to work for in its early days. Career opportunities are there for the taking. Enova's employee base is fairly young, progressive, intelligent, flexible, and motivated. Excellent work-life balance and perks.

Cons

If you're a person who wants/needs a lot of structure and avoids change like the plague, Enova's probably not the right place for you. It's the right place for a self-driven person who wants to build and improve things, but not someone who needs clearly-set next steps, check-ins, etc. Health benefits aren't great, but I know they're working on them.
