Pros

Cafeteria was nice and free coffee

Cons

Micromanagement, you are just another number, no employee retention, no growth opportunities, very bad upper management, clicked up managers who are very unprofessional

Pros

Great place to thrive as middle-management. They have all the flashy things in office meant to dazzle you into staying, like free coffee & snacks. Processes have been built up by a lot of smart people over the years to learn from. Diversity here is super awesome and there's clearly a lot of smart, talented teams. You'll also learn a ton of survival techniques to cope with the gaslighting & unhealthy workloads. Being publicly traded, you can see how many more millions the execs are making each month than you'll make in a decade so I suppose that's inspiring.

Cons

Perhaps I'll start this by saying I was screamed at for not putting in more overtime (completely unpayed & outside normal hours btw) to make my manager look better. This wasn't a miscommunication. Pay is way under career level with city-based cost of living statistics conveniently removed when they argue it isn't. Unfortunately, Chicago is a bit more expensive than out-of-city living. The team I was on had severe favoritism issues where some employees are made to be the work horses while others are praised endlessly & promoted for doing the minimum and chitchatting with the manager over lunch. Never have I seen or have been thrown under the bus so many times or blatant HR violations happen casually. Management style on the team I was on is HYPER micro-management, despite their objections, with little room to adapt workflows to your own strengths. They may have read a lot of books on management, but the only things that have stuck are ways to force employees into feeling like they're incapable of crawling away.

Pros

They overall have good benefits.

Cons

Lack of teamwork and communication. It is very much command and control. The training was abysmal, and the established members of the team did not get along with one another, setting a poor example for new employees. Way too man layers of middle management.
