Pros

- Great benefits - Salaries are pretty good for the nonprofit sector - Good work and mission - Good CEO (Shaun Donovan; the one listed here on Glassdoor is the previous CEO who left ~2 years ago)

Cons

The organization is large once you add in all the subsidiaries and other divisions and the processes that actually exist are burdensome and complicated. There is absolutely no culture of innovation or quick changes. IT holds a shocking amount of power for an organization that is not an IT or tech-forward organization. They are constantly throwing up roadblocks to new ideas and instead of the organization investing the time / resources it takes to improve systems and processes, everyone just acknowledges / complains about how terrible they are and drag their feet on doing anything. Internal dynamics between divisions and departments are competitive instead of collaborative. It feels like we're all working for different organizations and missions rather than working together toward one vision. Absolutely no support for raising new ideas, especially if you're not a VP or above. People are overworked and under-recognized and there is a massive disparity in how people feel about the organization based on tenure. Tons of people have been here for 10+ years, and they seem to love it (and yet constantly complain about it at the same time?). Anyone who's been here less than 3 seems to be pretty indifferent about it and just deflated. Fine organization if you're just looking for somewhere to do your job exactly as it's always been done and go home. Terrible organization if you're actually looking to grow, contribute new ideas, or in any way change anything - and you're not a VP+.
